Overview

Truly wide and truly fast, the Nikon 20mm f/1.4 DG HSM Lens is a member of the venerable Art series of Global Vision lenses from Sigma and pairs a sophisticated optical design with a robust physical construction. Comprised of 15 elements in 11 groups, the lens design includes two “F” Low Dispersion (FLD) elements, five Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements, and two aspherical elements to significantly reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations, as well as limit distortion for clean, sharp, and evenly illuminated imagery. A Super Multi-Layer Coating has also been applied to minimize surface reflections, flare, and ghosting for increased contrast and color accuracy. The wide focal length and consistent image quality make this lens especially suitable for landscape, interior, architectural, and astrophotography applications, while the fast f/1.4 maximum aperture deems it ideal for natural and low-light shooting.

Amelia ★★★★★

I shoot astro almost every clear night, and f/1.4 at 20mm means I can grab the Milky Way core in a single 15-second shot without the stars trailing. The manual focus ring is buttery smooth, which matters when you're tweaking focus by live view in the dark.

Harper B. ★★★★★

The build quality on this Art series lens feels exceptionally solid, and the manual focus ring has just the right amount of resistance for precise adjustments. It resolves incredible detail even wide open, making landscapes and astro shots look sharp across the entire frame.

Amelia W. ★★★★★

Shot this at f/1.4 in near-darkness and the sharpness across the frame still floored me—the Art series optics really earn their keep. The focus ring is silky smooth for manual override, and it locks onto stars like it's made for them.
